Owner and CrossFit Trainer
Kara has owned CFAW since 2012, she has her Certificate 3 & 4 in fitness and is the only CrossFit Certified Level 2 Trainer in the Albury area. Kara is constantly expanding her industry knowledge by attending workshops and seminars relevant to health, training, nutrition and wellness. She has completed a number of specialty courses including the CrossFit Endurance course and CrossFit Strongman course.
Kara is known for her love of push ups, her archaic approach to technology and amazing ability to cry through certain workouts.
Reception, admin, social media and pretty much the boss
Mel has been CrossFitting since 2012 and has been bossing us around here at CFAW since 2014.
She is probably the bubbliest person you will meet and CrossFit really is her passion! Mel volunteers each year at the CrossFit regionals and competes regularly herself. She is not at the advanced level yet but will take on anything as a challenge, even running and wall balls! Mel’s favourite non CrossFit thing is chocolate milkshakes (oh, after her family that is)
CrossFit Trainer and Personal Trainer
Luke was one of those kids that just loved sport and all things outdoorsy, probably because there wasn’t much else to do in the small town he lived in. He excelled in long distance running and competed at amateur level kick boxing in 2011 and at a professional level in 2012.
Being the type to put everything he has into his passion, Luke’s CrossFit career is impressive! He started CrossFit in 2012, entered his first CrossFit Open in 2013 and as earned his spot at The CrossFit Regionals in 2014, 2015 and 2016.
Luke is a CrossFit Level 1 Certified Trainer and also has his Certificate 3 & 4 in Fitness. He coaches in our CrossFit classes and is also available for personal training.
Scott is our pommy import, our gymnastics guru and our resident ‘dude’. He moved to Australia to fulfill his life long drea of working at CFAW (well that’s how Kara tells the story anyway). His work history is as impressive as it is varied. He has worked in nursing, as a first responder, a dive instructor, a carpet layer and a CrossFit Level 1 Certified Trainer.
Scott is a well rounded coach and athlete, but his gymnastic strength and ability is above amazing! He is a fantastic trainer, not much of a morning person and is a sucker for red frogs. Scott coaches our CrossFit classes and runs many of our specialty programs such as our school based training and nutritional challenges.
Ray is a CrossFit Level 1 Certified Trainer and works part time at CFAW running some of our CrossFit classes. He knows that a busy lifestyle is no reason to skip the gym and he proves that as he fits coaching and training around his hectic schedule. Ray is a superstar crime fighter by day (minus the doughnuts) and a dedicated CrossFit trainer in his spare time, he specialises in shenanigans and is known for his fun and often bizarre warm up routines.
As well as being a CrossFit Level 1 Certified Trainer, Charlie is also a Doctor of Chiropractic, weekend soccer star playing for the Wodonga Diamonds, a loving husband and father of 2 and an elite level golfer…. Well if by elite you mean holds the record at 13th Beach Golf Course for the worst game ever (168 with 32 lost balls), then sure Charlie is elite.
He has a passion for functional movement and loves to share his knowledge and expertise with our coaching staff, clients and frankly anyone who will listen.
This is Lucy, she is another of our CrossFit Certified Level 1 Trainers, she holds her Certificate 3 & 4 in fitness, is currently studying community services and absolutely loves her cats.
Lucy commits a lot of time to her education and learning in both movement and nutrition. She coaches some of our CrossFit classes and assists Scott with a lot of our specialty programs, particularly anything nutrition and gymnastic related.
